Days #5 & 6 training

Day #5 – Rest (my favorite day of the week!!)

Day #6 – 4m run
I just completed my 4m about 10 minutes ago. I’m still on my 1 minute walk/1 minute run, per my PT’s instructions. And thank goodness for that because my right calf (my “good” calf) starting aching about 3 miles into it. I pressed on. I’ve felt this pain before in both calves and it’s one that feels more superficial, on the larger muscle area, than deep. That deep one is the one that sidelines me for weeks. Anyway, I thought it went well. I felt stronger than I had in a long time. I’m looking forward to seeing Troy on Tuesday to see if I can increase my time to maybe 1.5 minutes or 2 minutes between my run/walk.

On a completely separate note, two things I’m loving right now during or after my runs:

  1. My new songs on my playlist – Party in the USA (Miley Cyrus), Come Pick Me Up (Darcie Miner), I Gotta Feeling (Black Eyed Peas), Cara de Nino (Jerry Rivera), Use Somebody (Kings of Leon) … ¬†just a few of that keep me moving along at my Olympic world-record pace.
  2. My Zico coconut water after my runs. God I love that stuff!

Day 7 is Stretch & Strengthen.
